Terms of Service

These Terms form a binding agreement between you and YOUR_LEGAL_NAME. Your use of messaging, listings, carts, offers, reviews, and other features is subject to these Terms and all policies referenced here.

We may update these Terms from time to time. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page indicates when changes took effect. Continued use after changes means you accept the revised Terms.

RiftMarket.ca is an independent online marketplace that helps buyers and sellers of Riftbound trading cards connect in Canada. We provide listing, search, messaging, and offer tools.

We are a platform facilitator only. We are not the buyer or seller in transactions between users, and we do not take title to cards listed on the Site unless explicitly stated otherwise in a future feature.

RiftMarket.ca is an independent marketplace and is not affiliated with Riot Games, UVS Games, or Riftbound.

You must be at least 18 years old and able to enter a binding contract under applicable law.

The Site is intended primarily for users in Canada. You are responsible for ensuring your use complies with local laws where you live.

You must provide accurate account information and keep your credentials secure. You are responsible for activity under your account.

You may sign up with email and password or through supported OAuth providers (such as Discord or Google). Information from those providers is handled as described in our Privacy Policy.

We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms or that pose risk to other users or the Site.

Buyers browse listings and add items to carts grouped by seller. Buyers contact sellers through our messaging system to discuss availability, price, and how to complete the exchange.

When both parties agree, the buyer may send an offer (purchase request) listing specific items and quantities. The seller may accept or decline. Accepted offers mark listings as pending to reduce double-selling.

After the physical exchange, parties may mark the deal complete and leave reviews. Exchange locations you optionally add to your profile may be visible to the other party when arranging a meetup.

In the current version of the Site, we do not process payments between buyers and sellers. Prices shown in Canadian dollars (CAD) are for reference and negotiation only.

Payment method, timing, and delivery or pickup are arranged directly between buyer and seller (in person, by mail, or otherwise as they agree). We are not responsible for payment disputes, chargebacks, or failed deliveries between users.

You should use common sense and safe trading practices when meeting other users or sending cards by mail.

We may later enable optional platform payment, shipping, or seller subscription features (for example via Stripe). If we do, additional terms, fees, and privacy disclosures will apply at that time.

Your use of any future payment feature will require compliance with the payment provider's terms and any seller onboarding requirements we publish on the Site.

Listings must be for authentic Riftbound trading cards only. You may not list counterfeit cards, proxies, or cards from other games.

For sale listings, cards must meet our condition standard (Near Mint) unless we explicitly allow otherwise in the listing flow.

Descriptions, finish, quantity, and photos must be accurate. Do not misrepresent condition or edition.

We may remove, pause, or reject listings that violate these rules or that we reasonably believe are fraudulent or harmful.

You agree not to harass, threaten, defraud, or mislead other users; not to circumvent the Site to avoid fees or safety features we introduce later; and not to scrape or abuse the Site's systems.

Sellers should respond to messages in good faith and honour agreements they accept. Buyers should not send frivolous offers or abuse the reporting system.

An offer is an invitation to transact. It is not binding on the seller until the seller accepts it in the Site.

Buyers may cancel a pending offer before acceptance where the Site provides that option. After acceptance, changes or cancellations are between the parties unless we state otherwise.

You may submit reviews, messages, listing text, and images. You retain ownership of your content, but grant us a non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to host, display, and use it on the Site for operating and promoting the marketplace.

We may remove content that violates these Terms or applicable law.

Users may report listings or behaviour they believe is harmful. We review reports and may warn, restrict, or ban users at our discretion.

We do not guarantee that every report will result in removal or that every dispute between users will be resolved in a particular way.

The Site's design, branding, and software are owned by the Operator or licensors. You may not copy or reverse-engineer the Site except as permitted by law.

Riftbound and related trademarks belong to their respective owners. We do not claim affiliation with Riot Games, UVS Games, or other rights holders except as required to operate a fan marketplace.

The Site is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement.

We do not guarantee that listings are authentic, that users will complete exchanges, or that the Site will be uninterrupted or error-free.

To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, the Operator will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for loss of profits, data, or goodwill.

Our total liability to you for any claim arising from these Terms or the Site will not exceed the greater of (a) CAD $100 or (b) amounts you paid to us for platform services in the twelve months before the claim, if any.

Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations; in those cases, our liability is limited to the maximum permitted by law.

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless the Operator from claims, damages, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising from your use of the Site, your listings, your transactions with other users, or your violation of these Terms or any law.

You may stop using the Site at any time. We may suspend or terminate your access if you breach these Terms or for operational or legal reasons.

Sections that by nature should survive termination (including disclaimers, limitation of liability, and indemnity) will survive.

We may modify these Terms by posting an updated version on the Site. Material changes may also be communicated through the Site or by email where appropriate.

These Terms are governed by the laws of Canada and the Province of Ontario, without regard to conflict-of-law rules.

You agree to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts located in Ontario for disputes that cannot be resolved informally, subject to mandatory consumer protections in your province of residence.
