Buyer FAQ

Everything you need to know about buying Riftbound singles on RiftMarket.ca.

Getting started

Do I need an account to browse?+

No — you can browse the card catalog and all listings without an account. You only need to create a free account when you're ready to add items to your cart or contact a seller.

How do I find a specific card?+

Use the search bar at the top of any page. You can search by card name, set name, or collector number. You can also browse the full card catalog at /cards and filter by set, rarity, or colour. Clicking a card shows all active listings for it, sorted from lowest to highest price.

How do I save cards I'm interested in?+

On any listing page, click the ♡ Save button to add it to your watchlist. Find all your saved listings at Account → Watchlist.

Buying & contacting a seller

How does buying work on RiftMarket?+

RiftMarket uses a conversation-based model. You add cards to your cart, then contact the seller through the messaging system. Once you agree on the deal, you send a purchase request. The seller accepts or declines. After the physical exchange, both of you mark the exchange as complete and leave a review.

How do I contact a seller?+

There are two ways: go to your cart, select a seller's cart, and click "Contact seller" — or visit a seller's profile page and click "Contact seller". This opens a chat window where the seller can see which cards you're interested in.

Why is the cart organized per seller?+

Each seller ships or hands over their own cards independently. Grouping by seller keeps negotiations clear and ensures you're dealing with one person at a time.

Can I buy from multiple sellers?+

Yes — add items from different sellers to your cart. You'll see one cart per seller. Simply start a separate conversation with each seller.

What is a purchase request?+

Once you and the seller have agreed on a deal in the chat, click "Make a purchase request". This creates a formal request that shows the seller exactly which listings are included. The seller then accepts or declines. Once accepted, those listings are marked as pending to prevent other buyers from purchasing them.

What happens after the seller accepts my request?+

The listings are marked as pending and you arrange the physical exchange together — whether it's a meetup, drop-off, or mail. Once the cards are handed over, either of you can mark the exchange as complete in the conversation.

After the exchange

How do I confirm the exchange is done?+

In the conversation where the purchase request was made, the seller can click "Mark exchange as complete" once the cards have been handed over. You can see the status on your Orders page.

How do I leave a review?+

After an exchange is marked as complete, a "Leave a review" button appears on your Orders page. You can rate the seller 1–5 stars and leave an optional comment. Reviews are public and visible on the seller's profile.

What if there's an issue with the cards I received?+

Contact the seller directly through the chat. If the issue isn't resolved, you can report the listing using the "Report listing" button on the listing page. Our team reviews all reports.

Account & safety

How do I report a suspicious listing or seller?+

On any listing page, click "Report listing" and describe the issue (e.g. counterfeit card, misleading description). You can also block a user if needed. Our moderation team reviews all reports.

Can I cancel a purchase request after sending it?+

Yes — as long as the seller hasn't accepted yet, you can discuss it in the chat and ask them not to accept. Once accepted, communicate directly with the seller to cancel mutually.

Is my personal information safe?+

RiftMarket.ca only collects the information needed to operate the platform (email address, display name). We never share your data with third parties. Exchanges are arranged directly with sellers — no payment information is ever stored on the platform.
