Seller FAQ
Everything you need to know about selling Riftbound singles on RiftMarket.ca.
Getting started as a seller
What do I need to start selling?+
Just create a free account. Once registered, go to Account → My listings and click "Sell" to create your first listing. No setup fees, no payment integration required.
Is there a cost to list cards?+
Listing cards is completely free. There is currently no platform commission — exchanges are arranged directly between you and the buyer.
What condition of cards can I sell?+
Currently, only Near Mint (NM) cards are accepted on the platform. This ensures a consistent and trusted experience for all buyers.
Can I sell from anywhere in Canada?+
Yes — RiftMarket is open to all Canadian sellers. Exchanges can be arranged in person, by mail, or any method you agree on with the buyer.
Creating listings
How do I create a listing?+
Click "Sell" in the navigation. Start typing the card name to search the catalog, select the card, choose the finish (Normal or Foil for Common/Uncommon; Foil only for rarer cards), set a price in CAD, and optionally upload photos and write a description. You can create up to 20 listings at once.
Which finishes can I list?+
Common and Uncommon cards can be listed as Normal or Foil. All other rarities (Rare, Epic, Legendary, etc.) are Foil only. The platform enforces this automatically.
Should I add photos to my listings?+
Strongly recommended. Listings with photos receive significantly more attention — a camera icon is shown on listings with photos on the card page and in search results. You can upload a front photo and an optional back photo.
Can I list multiple copies of the same card?+
Yes. Use the quantity field to list multiple copies under a single listing. Buyers can purchase up to the available quantity.
Can I edit or remove a listing?+
Yes. Go to Account → My listings. You can edit the price, quantity, description, and photos. You can also pause a listing (hides it temporarily) or remove it entirely. Bulk actions are available via checkboxes.
Handling purchase requests
How does the purchase flow work?+
A buyer adds your cards to their cart and contacts you through the messaging system. You chat, agree on the deal, and the buyer sends a purchase request. You can review it in the conversation and accept or decline. Once accepted, the listed cards are marked as pending so other buyers can't purchase them.
Where do I see incoming purchase requests?+
You receive a notification when a buyer sends a request. You can also see all requests on your Sales page (Account → Sales) and in the conversation sidebar where the request was made.
What happens when I accept a request?+
The buyer is notified, and the associated listings are marked as pending. You then arrange the physical exchange directly with the buyer — in person, by mail, or any method you agree on.
What if I decline a request?+
The buyer is notified that the request was declined. The listings remain active and can be purchased by other buyers. You can explain why in the chat if you wish.
How do I mark an exchange as complete?+
Once you've handed over the cards, go to the conversation and click "Mark exchange as complete". This updates the order status and notifies the buyer. Both of you will then be prompted to leave a review.
Ratings & trust
How does the rating system work?+
After each exchange is marked as complete, both the buyer and seller can rate each other 1–5 stars with an optional comment. Ratings are split into two scores: your seller rating (based on sales you made) and your buyer rating (based on purchases you made). Both are visible on your public profile.
How do I build a good reputation?+
Respond quickly to messages, describe your cards accurately, and follow through on agreed exchanges. Adding clear photos to your listings also helps build buyer confidence.
What happens if a buyer reports my listing?+
Our moderation team reviews all reports. If your listing contains inaccurate information or prohibited content, you may be contacted. Listings that repeatedly violate guidelines may be removed.
Account & compliance
What cards can I NOT sell on RiftMarket?+
You cannot list counterfeit cards, proxies, cards that are not Near Mint condition, or cards from games other than Riftbound. Misrepresenting a card's condition or finish is a violation of our Terms of Service.
What is KYC verification?+
KYC (Know Your Customer) is an optional identity check for sellers. Your KYC status (None / Pending / Verified) is visible in your account. It may become required for high-volume sellers in the future.
Can I have multiple listings for the same card?+
Yes, as long as each listing accurately represents a physical copy of the card you own and intend to sell.
